Established in 2004 but with roots going back to the early 90s, NSS has grown from strength to strength. We offer large regional law firms and estate agents, the opportunity to profit significantly by running their own search franchise business.

Property searches are required for every house purchase. Land registry data shows that even in the depressed market of 2010 there were over 650,000 transactions, but the longer term norm is for an average of 1.2 million transactions per annum.

Recent years have seen huge changes in the search market with first the introduction of Home Information Packs and then their subsequent abolition. This has meant that personal searches have become widely accepted by conveyancers everywhere.

Perhaps more significantly in July 2010, after a long running battle between local authorities and the information commissioner, the government instructed all local authorities that information contained within a local search was in fact environmental information and should be provided to personal search companies free of charge. This position has completely changed the landscape for personal search companies and we now have the best access and charging regime that we have known since personal searches were first carried out some twenty or thirty years ago.
